50% of Sales Being Donated To Make-A-Wish Wisconsin!

MKE Bar Dice Co. Donating 50 Percent Of Sales To Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin
Funds Will Go Directly To Fulfilling Child’s Wish

May 22, 2020 -- MILWAUKEE -- MKE Bar Dice Co. today announced 50 percent of all sales are being donated to Make-A-Wish Wisconsin through a partnership with the organization’s young professionals group, the Young Wishmakers of Wisconsin (YWOW).

All funds raised will go directly to fulfilling a child’s wish to visit Aulani, a Disney resort and spa in Hawaii and the fundraiser will continue until the goal has been met.

“My cousin was a Wish Kid 20 years ago and I can’t overstate the profound importance of the Foundation’s work,” Said Marko Knezic, Founder of MKE Bar Dice Co. “The Bar Dice Co. raised $1,000 to support local restaurants last month and I’m hoping we can match or exceed that number by donating half of our holiday weekend revenue to help make Mycajah’s wish a reality.”

“So many fundraisers were canceled this spring and summer, so we are grateful for innovative ways people are continuing to help support our critical mission,” says Forrest Doolen, Director of Marketing and Communication at Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. “Partnerships like this one with the MKE Bar Dice Co. are offering hope to kids battling critical illnesses.”

An estimated 500 Wisconsin children will be diagnosed with a critical illness in 2020 and the emergence of COVID-19 creates additional dangers and concerns for families affected from these diagnoses, making Make-A-Wish’s mission more important than ever:

  • 83% of adult former wish kids say they experienced improved physical health and strength
  • 97% of adult former wish kids say they experienced improved mental health¹
  • A combined 89% of nurses, doctors, social workers and child life specialists surveyed say they believe that the wish experience can influence wish kids’ physical health¹

Make-A-Wish Wisconsin has 450 wishes in its current pipeline for 2020, 150 of which have been delayed due to COVID-19 safety concerns. In addition, the pandemic has an estimated $2 million effect on incoming donations.

MKE Bar Dice Co.’s contributions to Make-A-Wish Wisconsin will be automatically applied to all sales made at www.BarDice.party, so there’s no need for purchasers to input a discount code to participate.

“This is a very simple and direct fundraiser,” Knezic said. “The average cost of a wish is about $12,000 and we hope that our level of commitment will inspire other people and businesses in Milwaukee to chip in, if they can.”

Individuals or corporations who would like to make a donation without purchasing a Bar Dice kit can do so by visiting site.wish.org/goto/dice.
