Small Business Launches With Hopes To Bring A Taste Of Nightlife To People Stuck At Home

MKE Bar Dice Co. Recreates Milwaukee’s Favorite Bar Game For Home Use

Mar. 24, 2020 -- MILWAUKEE -- MKE Bar Dice Co. today announced its official launch. The small business created a home version of “Bar Dice,” a game that’s unique to Milwaukee and is played in many bars across the city. Each set retails for $25 at www.bardice.party and includes five dice, one dice cup, and an illustrated, interactive game guide. 

The current inventory is limited to 200 units and 20% of all sales will be donated directly to SOS Milwaukee (Save Our Spots) GoFundMe Campaign that’s already raised more than $25,000 to help offset service industry revenue losses due to COVID-19 closures. 

MKE Bar Dice Co. will continue taking orders if the initial supply sells out and will resume shipping once its supply chain partners confirm that it’s safe to do so. 

THE GAME
MKE Bar Dice Co.’s game sets include everything needed for experienced and new players to take the game from the taproom to the living room and the first 200 sets sold will include a limited edition yellow leather dice cup and five blue dice, an homage to the Milwaukee Brewers. 

The game also includes an interactive guide book to teach the rules, give tips, and provide comic relief while learning the game. MKE Bar Dice Co. commissioned a 2019 Gold IBPA Benjamin Franklin award-winning illustrator to create an entertaining, high-quality gaming experience. 

MKE Bar Dice Co.’s guide book mixes digital and analog media to regularly deliver fresh content by featuring six QR codes that link to original content, updated weekly. Bar Dice customers can scan the QR codes with the camera on their smartphones to participate in challenges, get drink recipes, win rideshare credits and more.   

CHANGE OF PLANS
MKE Bar Dice Co. has been developing the game since October of 2019 and initially had planned to release the game on April 14, 2020, for Milwaukee day and then continue retail sales during the DNC.  

The company changed the launch date in an attempt to navigate the shifting event landscape brought on by COVID-19 and decided to launch early to bring some semblance of nightlife to Milwaukeeans who are quarantined at home.
